So for the past few months, I've noticed a trend in straight people calling their significant other their "partner".
WTF is up with this?
Personally, I just find it confusing. Whatever happened to assigning a sex to your boyfriend or girlfriend? I guess it's because they feel like boyfriend is too juvenile or that it somehow understates the significance of the relationship. But when I hear "partner", I just wonder "gay"? Then you have to ask probing questions to try to get the person to say something referencing "he" or "she" to find out if they are gay.
Not that there is a problem with being gay, or that it really matters, but I just like to be in the know. Maybe I will have a situation in which I need a gay connection. You never know if this might end up being relevant.
I was asked to be a featured blogger or some kind of crap like that for this website Cityblis. If it looks legitimate and will bring me more potential exposure, then I say okay. So I was looking at their site and the other featured blogs and there was one that made me laugh out loud.
It was called simply "Visual Blog" and the description was, "My visual blog, in which I pretty much just post pictures of myself."
That's not a blog...that's a fan club for yourself. Note I was watching "Zoolander" at the time, and it made me wish I had a slew of pictures of myself making the "Blue Steel" face to post. My friend laughs at me when I do post pics of myself on Facebook because she says I look thug because I am not smiling. But it's not to look thug, it's because I think when I smile in photos, I look fatter. I'm not trying to give the bedroom eyes...I just happen to have very blue eyes that stand out.
Makes me unique...(little nugget for those who get the inside joke)
